Clients will be asked to review, read, and acknowledge the following information each time they visit the Seattle Tattoo Emporium to get a tattoo.
I do not have any medical, skin, or other conditions that might affect my Tattoo Services or the healing thereof. I am not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. I am not taking medications that affect my blood content. I am not pregnant.
It is not reasonably possible for the Tattoo Artists of this Tattoo Shop to determine whether I might have an allergic reaction or other reaction to the tattoo ink and/or processes utilized in performing my Tattoo Services. I agree to accept any and all risks related to or arising out of the Tattoo Services.
Infection is always a possibility from obtaining a tattoo, particularly in the event that I do not take proper care of my tattoo. I have received aftercare instructions, and I agree to follow them while my tattoo is healing. If any touch-up work is needed due to my own negligence or failure to follow instructions, it will be at my own expense.
Variations in color/design may exist between the tattoo I select and as it is applied to my body. A tattoo is a permanent change to my body, and no representations have been made to me as to the ability to later change or remove my tattoo.
Tattoo Services, Deposits, and Drawing Fees are non-refundable. Deposits will be forfeited to the Tattoo Artist for appointment no-shows or for cancellations less than 24 hours before the appointment.
I acknowledge I am over the age of eighteen (18) and that I have truthfully represented to my Tattoo Artist that obtaining a tattoo is my choice. I consent to the application of the tattoo and to any actions or conduct of the Tattoo Artists of this Tattoo Shop that are necessary to perform the tattoo services.
I waive and release, to the fullest extent permitted by law, Tattoo Artist and Tattoo Shop from all liability whatsoever, for any and all claims or causes of action that I, my estate, heirs, executors or assigns (additional releasors) may have for personal injury or otherwise, including any direct or indirect damages that result from tattooing, whether caused by the negligence or fault of the Artist or Tattoo Shop.
After Care Instructions & FAQ
Your tattoo artist will cover your tattoo with a protective bandage.
Please keep the bandage on for a minimum of 4-6 hours. If you received your tattoo late in the evening, it is acceptable to keep the bandage on until you wake-up in the morning.
When you remove the bandage, wash it thoroughly and gently with warm soapy water. Then, pat it dry.
DO NOT REBANDAGE! You must let the tattoo breathe so it can heal quickly and retain all of its ink and color.
We recommend that you use a plain hand lotion 3-5 times a day. Use it sparingly and rub the lotion in until it disappears. This helps to relieve the dryness and itchiness that follows when the tattoo scabs over and heals.
DO NOT PICK the scabs off before they are ready to fall away. This will cause loss of color brilliance and possibly removal of tattoo ink/pigment from the skin.
Until your tattoo is completely healed, you must refrain from exposing your tattoo to direct sunlight and tanning beds. Swimming in pools, lakes, rivers, the ocean, as well as using jacuzzies, hot tubs, bathtubs, and saunas is discouraged. Regular showers are fine- just keep them brief and avoid having the tattoo under the direct water spray.
Your tattoo will be tender to the touch for 4-7 days and will take about 2 weeks to fully heal. Some people heal in a week, but others can take up to 3 weeks. Scabbing typically forms within 2- 3 days and completely flakes away in 4- 7 days.
After the scabs are gone, your tattoo will appear very shiny because your skin cells are still regenerating. The tattoo is not fully healed until your skin takes on its natural patina.
